What is cocciopesto?

Cocciopesto is an ancient Roman material made by blending crushed bricks, ceramics, clay and natural aggregates. It is often used for flooring, wall claddings, decorative surfaces offering a unique, rustic aesthetic with a beautiful mix of colours and textures.

Cocciopesto is considered a highly sustainable material. Made from natural, locally sourced recycled materials, it has a low environmental impact compared to many modern building materials. The recycled aggregates have a much lower carbon footprint than cement, and cocciopesto's long lifespan and durability contribute to its sustainability by reducing the need for frequent replacements. Additionally, its breathability and natural composition make it an eco-friendly choice for interior and exterior applications, supporting healthy indoor air quality and minimising environmental impact.
