Just like the other pieces in the OSIS collection, the natural effects of osmosis are harnessed by applying salt to a wet birch wood surface, creating a beautiful glazed finish. This unique process allows pigments to flow into the wood’s grain, resulting in an extraordinary, multi-coloured design that evokes the organic patterns found in nature.
With endless possibilities in colour and pattern, Algae 07_43 is fully customisable, available as furniture pieces, panels, or full wooden boards (up to 2.4 meters in length). It’s not only visually striking but also highly functional, with a durable, liquid-resistant PU lacquer finish, excellent fire resistance (EN 13501-1 B1), and hygienic properties, making it perfect for a variety of spaces, including food-contact areas.
